When the Council revoked the Climate Emergency Plan in June 2025, the community came together.
By revoking the Plan, the current Mornington Peninsula Shire Council prompted many organisations to unite and advocate for its reinstatement. The Plan had been developed through years of consultation and community input. Its removal was met with deep frustration and concern.
From that moment, an Alliance began to take shape. What started as a collective response has grown into a network of 24 organisations, all committed to making a positive difference for the environment and to driving meaningful climate action on the Peninsula.
