The Mornington Peninsula Shire is developing a Climate Resilience Plan to help both our community and Council adapt to a changing climate and manage associated risks.
These risks include:
Physical risks such as extreme weather events, heatwaves, coastal erosion and bushfire
Transition risks including new laws, policy shifts, technology changes and economic impacts
Liability risks where Council or others may be held responsible for not acting on climate risks
This Plan will guide how our region prepares, responds and strengthens its resilience in the
years ahead.
The Shire has released the framework that will guide the development of the Plan. The Peninsula Climate Alliance has reviewed this framework and provided formal comments to help ensure the final Plan is robust, science informed and grounded in local knowledge.

The community survey closes Monday 2nd March.

Resilience is not something delivered to a community. It is something built with it.
Let’s ensure the future of the Mornington Peninsula reflects the care, experience and commitment of its people.
